word on archival:
• All computer files created at Serif
Sound are uninsured against erasure at all times.
• Clients will be given back all of the materials and production
masters submitted
for mastering after the job is finished,
as well as any masters and reference discs
created
for them. However,
no other project data will be included in the
delivery, unless
specified otherwise.
• Serif Sound does not promise keep data archives of projects for any
guaranteed period of time.
We make every effort, nevertheless. to store this
data, indefinitely.
• Please only send
clones of your digital masters, wherever
possible.
• Archiving options
at Serif Sound
include recording data to CD-, or DVD-, ROM, or copying to hard
drive, or via FTP.
• The best way to
ensure future accesss to your archive is to have
multiple copies stored in mulitple locations across many
miles of
space, and, also, at frequent intervals,
to
migrate
the archive to new
media,
as often as possible, without
destroying the old, wherever
possible.
